the Gospel |
I could write volumes on how Grace Church has impacted
my life. I started attending Grace Church while in
college and fell in love with the place. Anyways I
appreciated the fact that Scott Ardavanis took time with
me to answer questions about the church's doctrine. He
answered every question from the word!! There have been
countless other men and ministries that have impacted my
through the church. What I like most is the way
everything is centered around the word. Too many
churches have gone the way of the world and have used
slick marketing techniques and the ways of the world to
govern the church. Grace Church does not and hopefully
never will. Let us stay strong in the word.

One of our most fun memories of GCD was a hallelujah
party where we recreated scenes from Pilgrim's progress.
While the rest of us were making scenes with tarps and
rosin paper, Jim Ruhl was recreating the hanging gardens
of Babylon in his section. We were all wondering how the
25,000 patio blocks were going to be hauled upstairs
after the event, and were afraid of the answer. But
Randy Smith came to the rescue by organizing a bucket
brigade...............Cath wondered what the next year
might hold..........pyramids perhaps?

I will never forget our first Sunday at Grace Church;
sadly it was the morning that Rich Kerns collapsed at
the podium. We weren’t sure what to make out of it, but
my in-laws and some friends were attending so we
continued to attend also. I started attending the men’s
equippers’ class on Saturdays and was amazed and blessed
at Scott’s teaching. I had never been to a church that
taught God’s word so clearly and with so much heart.
Michelle and I continue thank God for the friendships we
have made over the years.

I started attending Grace Church as a Junior at Moody
Bible Institute, working with the youth ministry, and
also becoming friends with many in the college ministry.
I have told many of my friends and colleagues that my
time at Moody would not have been nearly as fruitful if
I were not involved at Grace.
