Since January 2006, Justin and Gretchen have been serving in the capital city Tirana as full time youth workers within the local church, Grace Church of Tirana. Their desire, Lord willing, is to create a dynamic, God-centered, Christ exalting youth group within their church in the capital city. There is a great need for youth workers in Albania, and Justin and Gretchen are serving to fulfill that need.
Justin and Gretchen have a great burden for the local church wherever it is. They want to see the body of Christ coming together for the sake of the name of Jesus that he may be exalted among the nations. It is all about the name of Jesus, mission exercised to make His name famous, and to correct the object of people’s worship from the things that are fading away, to the things that are eternal, Christ Himself.
Justin has rented and refurbished a facility that is used for a variety of youth meetings, such as Bible studies and social activities. The name of this facility is Streha, which is the Albanian word for refuge.
Please pray for Justin and Gretchen as they apply themselves diligently to learn the Albanian language and as they continue to strive to establish a youth ministry in their church.
Grace Church of DuPage also supports the Gospel ministry in Albania by sending teams of college and high school students each year to conduct evangelistic youth camps. Beginning in 2001, Grace Church teams have reached out to the youth of Tirana. But, since 2008, our teams have conducted evangelistic English camps with the youth from the Muslim town of Babrru. There were 40 kids at the 2011 camp.
