The Ministry
Josiah Venture (JV) exists to equip the local church, to
evangelize and disciple young people by training youth leaders.
The ministry is currently in a multiplication phase spreading
throughout Eastern Europe. The ministry will be expanding schools
of leaders in two denominations to include an advanced course
for the 120 leaders who have already completed the first year.
JV hosts camps in Czech Republic and 15 of them were run by local
church partnerships. There were also camps in Poland,
Slovakia, Romania, Slovenia and Ukraine. The JV ministry is
currently expanding into the countries of Estonia, Latvia and
the Ukraine. The internship program has expanded as well.
They plan to add two other locations so they can handle a total of
50 interns from other churches. The Malenovice facility has been
completed with a capacity of 120 beds. This facility is
used regularly
for Evangelistic English Camps.
In the future
they are praying for more ways to penetrate the secular school
system with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Josiah Venture is also
asking the Lord for more workers to respond to the opportunities
in other countries here in Eastern Europe. Two men just returned
from the Ukraine and they are working on a plan to expand our
training to that Ukraine, as well as Romania and Slovenia. Our
prayer is for a movement of God among the young people of
eastern Europe, a movement that finds its home in the local
church and penetrates society for the glory of God.
Theresa Kerns
Theresa began serving full-time
with Josiah Venture in January of 2002. She recently spent
time ministering to JV families in Czech, Poland, Estonia and
Latvia. Her ministry entails her traveling overseas three
or four times a year with a focus on:

Building Titus 2
relationships with the Josiah Venture missionary women
serving in several Eastern European countries
-
Developing Bible studies
that assist national women in their personal study of the
Word and building meaningful relationships with other
believers
-
Assisting the home office by
providing missionary care to the staff and summer
interns
Theresa has
also conducted women's seminars in Israel in conjunction
with the Kashtan Family.
