The Kashtan Family
Letters from the
Kashtans
The Kashtans are
members of Grace and Truth Christian Congregation in Rishon Le
Zion (10 miles southeast of Tel Aviv). The church has about
260 attendees on the Sabbath service. They meet in HaChotam
publishing's offices which can comfortably contain 60-70 people.
All the rest must stand during the service and about 30-40 seats
are in the parking lot where people listen over a loud speaker.
Many people come to the church by a bus that the church rents
and with help from other people who own cars. 80% of the people
are Russian immigrants. The church has 5 elders, 2 deacons, one
evangelist, half-time evangelist, and an evangelist secretary. Orit is involved in
preparing material and leading the children's ministry. Eitan serves in the youth ministry and is
now and elder at the church. Community work is coordinated by Eitan which consists of helping with a
school for children with autism and those who have been abandoned and work
among the deaf in the community.
The
Kashtan's primary ministry is the HaChotam Christian
publishing house which produces separate periodicals
geared towards adults, youth and children.
Through this ministry the Kashtans are able to
instruct Israeli Christians in sound doctrine and
practice. |
